Are Your Connection Cards Doing Their Job?

Are Your Connection Cards Doing Their Job?

Connection cards are one of the simplest ways to help visitors take their first step toward deeper involvement in your church—but are yours as effective as they could be?

The traditional paper card can still work, but today’s digital age offers new opportunities to modernize and make them even more impactful. Here are a few ideas:

  1. Simplify the Design: A cluttered connection card can overwhelm visitors. Instead, keep it clean and focused on the essentials: Name, Email, Phone Number.
  2. Go Digital: QR codes make it easier than ever to connect. Add a code to your physical connection card, on-screen during your service, or even on signage in your lobby. When scanned, it can direct visitors to a digital form they can complete on their phone.
  3. Personalize the Follow-Up: Don’t let connection cards become one-way communication. Use the information you collect to send a warm, personal follow-up within 24–48 hours. A quick email, text, or call can make a lasting impression.

Just remember: the important thing is that you connect with the person, not that you get every piece of information known to man.
